Gold Canyon Library

Book Check Out Policy

Students visit the library on both a scheduled and independent basis. Each class has regular weekly time slots for book exchange and instruction. Individual students may come during the day with teacher permission to check out AR books.

Kindergarten

Kindergarteners have a special section where they find there books. They are learning how to check books and the responsibility behind taking care of a library book. Each kindergartener can check out ONE book a week.

First-Fifth Grade

First through fifth grade students can have two books checked out at all times. There are plenty of fiction and nonfiction books for them to choose from.

Overdue Books

Students who have books checked out for a period of time longer than two weeks will have a book that is considered overdue. It is an expectation that all students are responsible with their books and return them in a timely manner. If students do have overdue books, they will not be allowed to check out books until the overdue books have been returned. If the books have been lost, it is the responsibility of the child/parent to pay the overdue fine so the book can be replaced.
