Gold Canyon Library

Family Book Adoption

Did you know that you can donate a book to the library in honor of your family or child for only $20.00?

What will $20.00 get you at Gold Canyon Elementary?

1. An Accelerated Reader library book that is guaranteed for life.
2. An AR test for that book.
3. Gratitude from the school staff.
4. Countless smiles from children who will read the book.
5. A tax deduction on your tax returns.
6. Feeling of well-being that you contributed to the education of our community.
7. A nameplate inside the book letting all who read the book know that you donated this book to the school.

How to adopt a book:
1. Take a look through the list of books available for adoption. You can specify a certain book or leave the decision up to the librarian or teacher. You can even select more than one book !
2. There is a bit of information to fill out about you and/or your family. Include $20 for each book. It can be cash or a check made out to “Gold Canyon Elementary”.
3. You can mail in the information and money or drop it off at the school with your child or drop it off in person.
4. A receipt for proof of purchase and/or tax purposes will be given to you.

When the book has been purchased and received, we will take a picture of the book with your child. The book will be shelved on our special "Adopted Book" bookshelf along with a picture of your child holding the book. That picture will then be sent to you along with a certificate of appreciation from the school. You can contact the librarian at 480.981.1110, extension 2708 if you have further questions. I would love to see you come by the library and see how many books have been adopted!
